Andhra Pradesh is a state in the southeastern region of India. It is the eighth-largest state in India by area and the tenth-most populous state. The capital city of Andhra Pradesh is Amaravati, while the largest city is Visakhapatnam.

The state of Andhra Pradesh was formed on 1st October 1953, after the merger of the Telugu-speaking areas of the erstwhile state of Madras. In 2014, the state was bifurcated to form a new state, Telangana. After the bifurcation, Andhra Pradesh retained its coastal districts and new capital Amaravati was planned to be built.

Andhra Pradesh is known for its rich cultural heritage, with historic monuments like the Charminar, Golconda Fort, and the Borra Caves. The state has a diverse economy, with agriculture being the primary occupation of the majority of the population. The state is also known for its IT industry, with cities like Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam being major IT hubs. Andhra Pradesh is also a major producer of rice, seafood, and cotton.
